Getting started with UGSMS is easy because it is pay-as-you-go and doesn't require any subscription. You only pay for what you use and when you're ready to use it.
Step 1: Create an Account
Visit www.ugsms.app or sms.ugmail.co. You can also download the UGSMS app from Google Play, the Apple App Store, or our Windows and Linux desktop apps.
On the authentication page, click Create Account, then enter your full name, choose a username, enter your email address, and set a password. Click Create Account.
After your account is created, you'll see the onboarding page where you will verify your email address, verify your phone number, and test sending an SMS. Flora, our AI onboarding specialist, will guide you through each step. When you're done, you'll be taken to your dashboard.
Step 2: Top Up Your Wallet
Initially, you'll receive 10 free SMS credits that you can use to test the system. When you're ready to send more messages, top up your wallet:
Minimum top-up: 5,000 UGX
Maximum per top-up: 5,000,000 UGX
To top up: click Wallet in the footer menu, enter the amount on the Top Up Wallet page, enter your phone number, and select your network (e.g., MTN or Airtel). Currently, we support Mobile Money top-ups. Card payments are coming soon. After a successful transaction, your wallet is credited instantly.
Step 3: Start Sending
Now that your account is fully set up and your wallet is topped up, it's time to send your first message. UGSMS is a 100% self-service system — no need to contact support, no need for help, and no hassle. Visit our Help Center for step-by-step guides on how to send messages.
