A verification session is a single check run against a person's identity. Each session has a unique Session ID, a type, a timestamp, and a result status. Sessions are charged against your wallet balance.
Verification Types
NIN Verification — checks a National Identification Number against Uganda's national identity database
Face Verification — matches a live face capture against a reference image, with fake/liveness detection
Document Check — validates the authenticity and details of an identity document (e.g. national ID, passport)
Step 1: Open the Verification Tab
From the bottom navigation bar in the app, tap Verification. You'll see your Verification Overview showing total session counts broken into:
Success Verification — sessions that passed
Fake Detection — sessions where a fake or spoofed identity was detected
Failed Verification — sessions that did not pass due to a mismatch or error
Step 2: Create a New Session
Tap the + Create Session button in the top right. Select the verification type you want to run (NIN Verification, Face Verification, or Document Check), then enter the required information for that verification type and submit. MasterID processes the request and returns a result instantly.
Step 3: Read the Result
Each session returns one of three statuses:
Success (green) — the identity check passed and the data matched
Fake (red) — a spoofed or fraudulent identity was detected
Failed (orange) — the check could not be completed or the data did not match
Verification History
All sessions are logged in your Verification History, which shows:
Session ID (format: VER-YYYY-XXXXXX)
Verification type
Date and time
Result status
You can search by Session ID, type, or data, and use the Filter option to narrow results by date range or status.
Each verification session consumes wallet credits. Make sure your wallet has a positive balance before creating sessions. You can top up from the Wallet tab.
